A Journey to Cherish - The Himalayas

I had never been to such long journey for a whole week’s trip… In fact many of us in our traveler gang had never been to such a long tour. Most of us are new to New Delhi. The flight travel had its own exciting experience.. Reminded of the Nala Thamayanthi Movie flight scene of Madhavan when Air-hostess explained about the floaters.  Reminded of Santhanam’s parachute comedy too though they didn’t say a word about parachute.. Our gang took lot of pictures inside the flight with no less excitement and made the onlookers obviously understand that it was our maiden flight experience…
On our arrival to Delhi Airport, we met our driver who don’t speak to us much unless it is really necessary.. Probably due to the language problem..

Each day had its own enthralling experience.. Be it the people in our travel gang or the beautiful places that conjured the ‘WOWs’ and ‘Awesomes’. Our narrow minds will naturally become very generous after the visit of mighty and elegant Himalayan Mountains.

During our journey on/towards Rohtang pass which is in very altitude, I ‘m able to see the path to heaven from earth. The clouds have formed in such a way that at one point at the top, a glowing lush white mist in the background of sun’s rays, a seeming heaven, that extended to other lower clouds down, which eventually grounded towards earth.. The scene is tough to explain by words. Unless one witness that by their eyes, they cannot understand what I describe. They are all instant formation by the strolling Mist Gods, in the mere backdrop of valleys, Passes and Mountains.

Next comes our life time experience- the trek in the Himalayas, which according to me was a Himalayan task before the trekking expedition. Though I had been to small trekking expeditions before, this seemed to be rather tough, perhaps because of the name it holds (Pera ketala chumma athiruthulla!), or may be because the view of the high altitude mountains.

We had two options. Trek or Horse ride. Formerly I chose the latter. But Later I chose the former which is the Trek.

Somehow I managed to join the alpha team which was advancing towards the altitudes. Hands went numb in the cold. Dusts like snow were visible in the air.  Breathing was absolutely heavy. Taking pics with our hands wrapped with gloves was a real tough thing, as chilling and shivering effect was there. Still we didn’t give up. As and when we spot a nice location we started posing for the photos, as they were life time cherishing events for sure. yes. Absolutely true.. We reached the top, beyond which a deep ridge was seen. So we stood in the end, to witness the amazing show of the mountain facades there.. The mist played hide and seek with us, sometimes reluctant to show the wonderful view of the yellow flower valleys.  (‘Vaamma Minnal’ madhiri cycle gap la pathuka vandiyathuthan!) For few seconds the mist cleared, and allowed us to experience the Marvelous Beauty..

Once while climbing down, we didn’t expect a Huge mountain standing closely beside us. Mist again covered the view totally, suddenly leaving its way for us to feel the bliss and darshan of the mightiness and extraordinaire.

The card games, and dumb charades added to our fun. Our Food menu mostly had Rotis and Parathas and sandwiches with less or no rice. Yet it was a different experience to live with North Indian diet for few days. I should mention about the language. It was fun to hear our own silly Hindi..  It seemed to take a little effort to put on the words and form a meaningful sentence in Hindi, our national language.  It is natural for a French national, whom we interviewed in Manali, to not to know Hindi. And it is natural too, for a south Indian to struggle to speak in Hindi. Unity in Diversity.

Poem written for a contest :P

Looking at your lovely eyes
Heart engages with marvelous terms between us

At your divine face, I see my inseparable future
Sometime before ages, do you remember
Having spent lots of time being  together

Voyaging in the same ship, feeling your warmth
Walking side by side with you, I see the heaven around me

Showered with the incredible feel of you being with me

Gentleman huh?

My team mate when asked about how she expects her would-be should be..... This was the answer she came up with..

He should be humorous to make others laugh. But he should not be laughed at.
He should be brave enough. But he should not violate his ideals.
He should take decisions boldly. But he should fear for love and God.
He should be taller physically. But he should be flexible to others ideas.
He should have an enthusiastic family. But he should not have bubbly girl friends.
He should be intelligent. He should not be egoistic of the same.
He should have lot of friends. But he should not indulge in drinking or smoking.
He should be adamant in his ambitions. But not to his loved ones.

He must be a person who seems to be reserved in his talks, smiles silently, have childlike mind, witty and savvy nature, well observing his environment, a hero in his actions, cools down easily, celebrating every moment of life and lets others celebrate, sympathetic and empathetic with social issues, love for nation, philanthropist.

And not but not the least, He should speak to me with his eyes

My Encounter with Nature

There were lot of thefts in our Infy campus.. As I passed through the roads of the ECC(Employee care center) blocks of our Infy campus, I never expected such a theft would happen.. Yes.. A precious thing is being stolen.. OH! I lost it! I was taken aback... A lot of such incidents happened already in our campus.. The problem is that no one dares to complain.!

Aren't you curious to know what actually happened..?

That was a cloudy day. Previous day was a continuous rainy day in mysore city.
It was in the wonderful view of the nature surrounding the environment with fresh air and aroma.. The lush green leaves and bushes near the pedestrian paths.. And the flowering tress with their indigenous colors attracted our unstable minds to go towards them.. At one point, the view was so enchanting that I almost lost myself there.. Yes, we lost us.. Our Minds are being stolen.. We were seduced by the beauty..The different shades of green was a Ravivarma painiting drawn by Mother Nature.. The breathtaking Varnas of the leaves and the flowers in the thick bushes with descending sizes , stood in front of me as a still photography. To describe them, they were neatly arranged living ornaments of our mother earth! As I walked some more distance,  some Red flowers bearings trees in the ground showered their flowers in the ground to welcome us. It was a Red carpet welcome! Unfortunately I'm not aware of the tree's name.
I was stunned by the seen of the Reddish brown view of the wet ground with the strewn flowers of the no named tree..
On the way, I also had the privilege to see the tree bearing fluorescent yellow (magarantha manjal) color flowers in bunches. They call it kannikonrai.. (Manjal Konrai).  Below the tree, It was full of yellow flowers that embraced and adorned the grassy ground. I just went around the tree as if  I'm taking an yellow flower bath..!

This all happened with the background score (BGM) of the chirping birds and buzzing insects..

In one area I was dumbstruck by the paper flowers of climbers with their different colored flowers on the same bush..

As I walk through the aisle between the grasses there were same yellowish trees showering their yellows to the pedestrians!..  You know how it feels to walk through there!

Unwillingly I prepared my mind to come out of the inspiring beauty of that area..

After I came out, I felt as if I just saw a realistic 100 D nature movie.

A trip to Chennai !

Until recent past I did not know that such places existed in the vicinity of Chennai... For some people, Chennai may be heaven (One of my friend say it.. I'm yet to ask the reason ;-P ).. To me it is not.. Such was my impression towards the metro.. Literally I hate it.. I have reasons... Pollution, noise, humidity, heat, traffic, (last but not the least :-P) the unbearable Chennai Tamil.. The worst Tamil one could speak.. I understand that there are malls, partying clubs, pubs, multiplexes and movie theatres.. But they are not my first place of interest.. To me, Anything which is commercialized, is devoid of love..

Now I will get you to the wonderful, unforgettable trip I had gone with my friends, near Chennai...
The Mamallapuram, as we all know, a well renowned heritage site..You may wonder what is so exciting about there.. Apart from the historical rock carvings which speaks thousands stories of our forefathers, there is another enjoyment, which only few people have noticed. Rock climbing!  funny isn't it.. There is no hilly rocks there! But there are some rocks in the seashore serving as the lap of the sea mother.. If you are not scrupulous while climbing those rocks, your legs or you may get caught in the pits between the boisterously fixed rocks.. And when you climb to the top of the randomly located rocks in its plenty, you can see the Sea's view as if you are the king of the sea.. The waves coming and hitting the rocks is a treat to the eyes, with their water splashing as drizzling rains on you, purging your souls.. While Experiencing  the Sea Mother's embrace, we did not want to leave the place.  As dark engulfed the place, we were forced to leave the beautiful time behind us!

 Another week end in chennai..
It was a round trip from Chengalpattu, to  Pondicherry, Chidambaram Natarajar Kovil, Pichavaram.

Pichavaram was our favourite location among our journey.. It has mangrove forests grown in the muddy back waters conserved by the department of Forest. While starting the journey we did not know that such a visual treat was waiting for us. With our bargaining skills we negotioted some amount with the row man of the boat for which he promised to take us to the interiors of the back waters.. We had a fantabulous row boat ride after that deal. We came across the caves naturally formed by the prop roots of the mangroves. Literally I went mad in the boat floating in the muddy knee deep shallow waters... The cold shadows formed by the dense trees, increased our excitements in the slow row boat ride. The place was very calm and peaceful except for our giggles and gags and the clashing sounds of 'thudupu' with water (english meaning for thudupu enna?)....

On the way with lots of poses to the camera in the serene location. The boat man was telling us about the shooting spots of the place.. Again after some time of rowing, the water was lying beneath the open sky. No, It is not over yet.

Here we went into an uninhabited land. Full of tiny sea shelves and Sand which is dark in its color with a different texture..The very exciting thing that caught my eye was the moving shelves.. the tiny creatures with their slippery skins was carrying the shells with them.. It had Life inside it Man! I have never seen such shells in my life time.. which means that these places were not much explored by people... thankfully.. We need to cross such muddy areas fully explored by these tiny creatures to end in the beach. It was a no man island.. We thoroughly enjoyed the empty space seen until the horizons at all directions. We played, splashed water at each other, ran in the sand...
The emptiness had its own fun!

With the row man's shouting to convene us for the return journey, we unwillingly departed from the place. Back to our chaotic life :-(
But the thought of the fun filled time feels heaven!
